Wearing and storing sunglasses:

  1. Put the glasses on and take them off with both hands holding the feet of the glasses. Do not wear sunglasses on the top of the head, forehead or in any other way than specified in these instructions. This will protect the sunglasses from frame deformation and other damage.
  2. Periodically check that the sunglasses are in the correct shape and position. If you feel uncomfortable, contact your nearest “Optikos pasaulis” showroom.
  3. Do not use sunglasses as protection (e.g. when welding, working with hazardous materials).
  4. Keep your sunglasses in a hard, sealed glasses case. This will not only protect your sunglasses from scratches, but also from accidental knocks and breakages.

Cleaning and maintenance of sunglasses:

  1. You can rinse your sunglasses under running water at room temperature to remove any dust and grit that may scratch the lenses. Use a clean microfibre cloth to dry them. If you are unable to clean the accumulated dirt, please contact your nearest “Optikos pasaulis” salon where sunglasses can be cleaned in an ultrasonic bath.
  2. Clean your glasses only with products specifically designed for cleaning glasses (eyeglass wipes, eyeglass cleaners). Do not clean your sunglasses with a dirty wipe or with paper towels, clothes, etc., as these fabrics can scratch the lenses.
  3. For sunglasses with mirror lens coatings, clean only with a dry cloth. Do not use an eyewear cleaner.
  4. If your glasses have clips, remove the clips before cleaning the glasses.

Important!

  1. Avoid contact with salty seawater. Salty seawater can damage the lenses or frames of glasses.
  2. Avoid direct contact with chemicals that can damage the surface of the glasses (e.g. hairspray, liquids containing solvents or alcohol, etc.).
  3. Do not leave your sunglasses in places where hot air is concentrated (e.g. in the sauna, in the car, by the fireplace, in the oven, with the hairdryer on, etc.). Sudden temperature fluctuations can cause damage to the lenses or frame of the sunglasses (deformation, discolouration, chipping/cracking of the lens coating).
  4. Sunglasses are not designed to look directly into the sun or directly into an artificial UV source (e.g. in a solarium), nor are sunglasses designed for use at dusk or in the dark.

Frequently asked questions

How to clean sunglasses properly?

It is best to rinse your sunglasses under running water at room temperature and wipe them with a special microfibre cloth. You can also use a special cleaning fluid designed for glasses. Avoid using paper towels or cloths as they can scratch the lenses or the frame of the glasses themselves.

How can I protect my sunglasses from scratches?

To avoid scratches, always keep your sunglasses in a hard case when you are not wearing them. Never place your sunglasses on a hard surface directly on the lenses and avoid contact with hard surfaces.

Can sunglasses be worn on the top of the head ?

Although it can be comfortable, it is better to avoid wearing sunglasses on the top of your head, as this can deform the frame or damage the lenses. In addition, grease, dirt or e.g. hairspray can contaminate the lenses of the sunglasses and reduce visibility.

Can seawater damage sunglasses ?

Yes, salt sea water can damage the lenses and frames of sunglasses. If you have been in contact with salt sea water, it is recommended that you rinse your sunglasses thoroughly with fresh water and dry them with a special microfibre cloth.
