Compensated hearing aids

At all Optikos pasaulio vision and hearing centres, you can take advantage of the reimbursement for hearing aids provided by the State Patients’ Fund (SPC).

All people covered by compulsory health insurance (CHI) are entitled to a reimbursable hearing aid. A hearing aid can be fully or partially compensated. The age of the hearing impaired person also varies according to the length of time the compensation is available:

New! As of 1 July 2022, adults covered by compulsory health insurance (MHI) who are diagnosed with a hearing loss are entitled to 2 hearing aids FREE of charge if prescribed by a Level III an ENT doctor working in a medical establishment.

Compensation procedure:

  • Contact your family doctor. He or she will give you a referral to an otorhinolaryngologist (ENT).
  • See an ENT doctor who will issue the documents needed for reimbursement: form 027/a and a hearing audiogram.
  • Visit your nearest Optics World vision and hearing centre within 60 days and we will help you choose the right hearing aid for you. Important! Please bring the documents you have been issued.

ENT doctor – who to see?

Usually, your GP will answer any questions you may have about how to proceed during your initial consultation. However, if you plan to see the ENT doctor in person, you are informed that:

  • If you are applying for a hearing aid for the first time or you want to to receive two compensated hearing aids – contact an ENT doctor working in a Level III treatment centre. The treatment facilities providing Level III services are Santaros Clinics, Vilnius University Hospital, Kaunas Clinics, Klaipėda Hospital, Klaipėda University Hospital, Panevėžys Hospital, Šiauliai Hospital;
  • For a single reimbursable hearing aid for the same ear, please contact an ENT doctor working in a Level II facility, i.e. any hospital, clinic or private Level II ENT facility in the country.

If the answer is yes, you will receive documents to prove it – Form 027/a and a hearing audiogram. Bring the documents within 60 days to your nearest Optikos pasaulio vision and hearing centre and we will help you choose the best hearing aid for you.
